Popular Nigerian comedian and singer, Lawal Nasiru, widely known as Nasboi, has expressed frustration over an encounter with a police officer who allegedly asked him to send money via a SportyBet account.
The entertainer, who is currently on a self-driven 36-day nationwide tour aimed at drawing the attention of Afrobeats superstar Davido for a potential musical collaboration, took to social media on Monday to share his unsettling experience.
Posting via X (formerly Twitter), Nasboi recounted how a police officer flagged him down and, after being informed that he had no physical cash on him, allegedly instructed him to transfer money to a betting account.
“What the hell is wrong with the Nigerian police? What?” Nasboi wrote in disbelief.
“I said I had no cash to give, and you asked me to transfer to your SportyBet account? Really?”
