Panic and fear have gripped Tse Yange, a Tiv-majority village in Obi Local Government Area of Nasarawa State, following a brutal overnight assault by suspected armed herdsmen.
The attack, which occurred on Sunday night, reportedly left the village head dead and an undisclosed number of residents abducted, according to eyewitness accounts. Survivors said the assailants stormed the community under the cover of darkness, arriving on motorcycles and armed with sophisticated weapons.

Speaking to Daily Post, residents described the terrifying scene, likening it to a battlefield. One resident, still shaken from the ordeal, recounted how they were forced to flee into the surrounding bush to escape the gunfire.
“They came heavily armed and started shooting sporadically. It was like a war zone. We had to run into the bush for safety,” he said.
The onslaught, which reportedly lasted into the early hours of Monday morning, left multiple individuals wounded and homes deserted, as several families fled for their lives.

Both attacks appear to be part of a disturbing pattern of coordinated violence along the Benue–Nasarawa border, where ethnic tensions, land disputes, and herder-farmer clashes have intensified in recent months.
