The African Democratic Congress-led coalition has named a new venue for the official unveiling of its political platform after Wells Carlton Hotel abruptly cancelled the original booking.
According to a statement signed by ADC’s Deputy National Secretary, Nkem Ukandu, the event will now be held at the Shehu Musa Yar’Adua Centre in Abuja at 2 pm on Wednesday.
“Members of the National Working Committee, National Executive Committee, BOT, and other key stakeholders and members are expected to attend.
“Please note that attendance is self-sponsored,” the statement read.
This is coming hours after the Wells Carlton Hotel withdrew from hosting the event, citing an unspecified “internal compliance matter.”
Earlier, the unveiling of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) as the political platform for Nigeria’s growing opposition coalition was on Wednesday abruptly disrupted after the Wells Carlton Hotel and Apartments in Asokoro, Abuja, suddenly cancelled the fully paid reservation just hours before the event.
The programme, designed to formally introduce the ADC as the main political vehicle to challenge the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in the 2027 elections, was set to host some of Nigeria’s biggest political figures across party lines.
