Current Black Market Dollar (USD) To Naira (NGN) Exchange Rate

The Nigerian currency continues to fluctuate against the U.S. dollar in the parallel market. Checks at the Lagos Bureau De Change (BDC) operators on Friday, August 22, 2025, show that the naira is being bought at ₦1,555 per dollar and sold at ₦1,550 per dollar in the black market.

It is important to note that the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) does not officially recognize the parallel (black) market. The apex bank has repeatedly advised individuals and businesses seeking foreign exchange to make transactions only through official channels such as commercial banks.

Black Market (Aboki) Exchange Rate

  • Buying Rate: ₦1,555/$1

  • Selling Rate: ₦1,550/$1

CBN Official Exchange Rate

  • Highest Rate: ₦1,536/$1

  • Lowest Rate: ₦1,534/$1

As always, forex rates vary depending on demand, location, and negotiation with dealers. Therefore, the actual rate at which you buy or sell may differ slightly from the figures reported here.
