At its 102nd National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) resolved to allocate its 2027 presidential ticket to the South, while maintaining the current zoning arrangement for the National Working Committee ahead of the party’s elective convention in November.
Speaking to journalists in Abuja on Monday, PDP National Publicity Secretary Debo Ologunagba revealed that the decision was based on a report submitted by the Zoning Committee, led by Bayelsa State Governor Douye Diri.
Ologunagba also noted that the NEC expressed confidence in the ongoing preparations for the upcoming convention, describing the progress as satisfactory.
Ologunagba stated, ” NEC recommended that the North and South should retain their current NWC positions.
“NEC also resolved that since the National Chairman of the party is zoned to the North, the PDP 2027 Presidential ticket is hereby zoned to the South.”
