BREAKING: Qatar Bans ‘Single’ Nigerian Men From Entering Their Country

Qatar has introduced new visa restrictions barring unmarried Nigerian men from obtaining tourist or transit visas, citing frequent cases of overstaying by travellers.

In a statement released by the country’s Ministry of Interior, Qatari authorities stated that only families or female applicants will now be eligible for tourist or transit visas. Male applicants will be considered only if accompanied by their families.

The updated rules also require applicants to present proof of a confirmed return ticket and hotel accommodation before visas can be processed.

According to the notice, only five-star hotels will qualify for visa approval.

“These updated visa regulations follow recent cases of overstays. A confirmed return transfer must now be booked alongside your hotel before your tourist or transit visa can be processed. Only females or families may apply. Male travellers are no longer eligible unless accompanied by their family. Only five-star hotels are now accepted for visa qualification,” the statement read.

The restrictions apply to both new and pending applications, meaning Nigerians already in the approval process will also be affected.
