Passengers Drowned as Canoe Capsizes in Plateau

 


No fewer than four people are feared dead after a canoe capsized into Fajul River, Langtang South Local Government Area of Plateau State.


A security analyst, Zagazola Makama, confirmed the development on Friday.


He said the incident occurred when a canoe paddled by 35-year-old Nankpak Danladi capsized while ferrying four passengers to Wase.


The incident occurred around 4 p.m. on September 10.



“All four passengers whose identities are yet to be confirmed, drowned in the river,” a source confirmed.



Following the report, security operatives in Langtang South mobilised local divers for a search-and-rescue operation.


As of press time, no bodies had been recovered.
