A tragic incident unfolded at the Mountain of Fire and Miracles (MFM) Prayer City along the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway, where a 41-year-old woman identified as Benita Lurk Ikuenobe was found dead in what is suspected to be a case of suicide.
Security analyst Zagazola Makama, who shared the report on Sunday, revealed that the incident took place on Friday morning and was first reported by the church’s Chief Security Officer, Esiere Ekikere.
According to Ekikere, he “received a distress call at approximately 7:20 a.m. alerting him to an unresponsive woman lying on the floor of the church auditorium.” Upon reaching the location, he discovered the woman lying still, next to an empty bottle believed to have contained a poisonous chemical, suspected to be a commonly used pesticide (brand name withheld).
As per the report, officers from the Nigeria Police visited the scene, took photographic evidence, and transported the body to the Real Divine Hospital morgue for autopsy and further investigation.
Authorities have begun efforts to uncover the full circumstances that led to the incident. However, attempts by SaharaReporters to speak with the state police spokesperson, Omolola Odutola, for confirmation and comment were unsuccessful, as calls to her mobile line went unanswered.
