The global president of Christ Apostolic Church (CAC), Samuel Oladele, has called on Nigerians to embrace a life of prayer as a pathway to national and personal greatness.
He said this during his 70th birthday celebration and thanksgiving service held on Saturday in Ibadan.
He emphasized that true greatness for both individuals and the nation can only be realized through the grace of God.
While glorifying God, Mr Oladele said: “I wouldn’t have been able to achieve greatness if not for the grace and mercy of God.
“Life is full of hills and valleys, and God created it for a purpose. I am very grateful to God that I was able to overcome and survive all the ups and downs in my life.
“If there is anything that has worked for me, it is God’s grace and mercy.”
He affirmed that his calling as a minister of God was divinely ordained, attributing his triumphs over life’s trials to divine guidance and protection.
He urged Nigerians, especially the youth, to remain steadfast in prayer and resolute in their pursuits, emphasizing that such virtues are essential for achieving greatness.
During his exhortation, the church’s Regional Superintendent, Pastor Simon Oladokun, praised the celebrant’s unwavering courage and determination.
He noted that Pastor Oladele’s rise to leadership was not through coercion or manipulation, but through divine appointment. He offered prayers for continued strength and grace upon the celebrant.
Reverend Samson Ajetomobi, Chairman of the Pentecost Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN), Oyo State chapter, also spoke glowingly of Pastor Oladele, describing him as a compassionate and visionary leader.
He highlighted the strong relationship between PFN and CAC, crediting Oladele’s commitment to unity within the body of Christ.
“He embodies a spirit of godly collaboration, transcending denominational boundaries, and remains deeply focused on transforming CAC,” Rev. Ajetomobi remarked.
Representing the family, Lanre Oladele described his father as a loving and exceptional man, one who embraces all people equally and has touched countless lives through his kindness and wisdom.
He expressed heartfelt gratitude to the church and all well-wishers for their support and prayers in celebrating his father’s 70th birthday.
The event was graced by distinguished guests, including Oyo State’s Head of Service, Olubunmi Oni, traditional rulers, and other prominent figures.
